IHVN sensitizes Public on Coronavirus

To create awareness about the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and Lassa fever, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) has participated in a road walk organized by Love FM 104.5 FM in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

More than 100 people joined in the walk which kicked off from Wuse Market and ended in River Plate Event Center in Wuse.

IHVN Program Manager Prevention, Care and Treatment, Dr. Temitope Kolade called on the public to observe simple personal hygiene like regular hand washing, keeping the environment clean and rodents away. She also stressed the need to cover food items and cook food, cover nose and mouth when coughing, and  sneezing with a tissue to be disposed afterwards or a flexed elbow.

General Manager Love FM, Mrs. Ewuzie Lilian Anele said that walk, the first of its kind, was also to celebrate women in science and promote girl child education.

Other organizations that participated in the walk include, High Tech Center for Nigeria Women and Youths, Coach Paul Football Academy, Tony International Gymnastics.
